September 19, 2011: Meet the Members Concert (12:00 p.m.)
Theme: International Music and Poetry; RMS Coordinator: Sabine Schindler
October 10, 2011: Piano Aerobics
Group activities that get kids excited about taking piano lessons again. For all ages. Presented by Beth Duncan, RMS President. Beth has studied piano with Barbara Wing at the Levine School of Music who wrote “Everybody Wins: A Selection of Music Games that Make Piano Lessons Fun”. Beth taught groups of children piano at the Levine School for 5 years.
November 7, 2011: Glenn Winters (Virginia Opera Company, Norfolk, VA)
Mr. Winters will present a fun, entertaining program about Hansel and Gretel for novices to opera. This program is recommended for all ages.
February 18, 2012: Dr. Kelly Kazik
Dr. Kazik will give a musical presentation on “The Flute Family Vacation: The Flute Around The World.”
March 31, 2012: RMS Honors Concert
This concert will showcase winners of the annual RMS Scholarship Competition.
April 14, 2012: University of Mary Washington Students Concert
Students from the Department of Music will perform a variety of pieces.
