RMS Performance Opportunities
For the musician, public performance is the name of the game. It is why we spend hours perfecting a phrase, building the dynamics, and developing the techniques of telling the story of the music. Just as no ball player would practice without hope of a game, your student needs outlets to give purpose to the lessons. In recitals the musician shines and enjoys the attention of family and friends.
Rappahannock Music Society offers numerous performance opportunities for our students. We have 4 RMS recitals, 2 RMS festivals, the National Music Week activities, plus the NFMC Junior Festival (a.k.a. the Gold Cup Festival). In October 2007 we had the best of our Home Schooled Students in Concert. It was such a success we hope to make it a yearly event.
The following is a schedule of our club-sponsored student performance events for 2008-09. All RMS teachers are eligible to enter students. In addition to these, there are many other venues sponsored by local clubs and churches. Teachers share that information and can advise their students as they occur. Please note that dates may change.
